Waitlists are forming so sign up now! Here are all the details of the 2019-20 3rd-8th Grade Divisional Leagues as they become available.
This year evaluations will be held at Paly High School on the weekends of October 12/13 and 19/20. This year we will be asking players to attend between two and four sessions each. Players are being split up into "sub divisions" of 30-40 kids and given a time slot to attend each of the four days. When you register you should receive a sub-division assignment—but if you haven't gotten one by October 5th please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
All divisional leagues have mandatory practices on Saturdays, starting November 2nd and running through February 1st. There are no Saturday practices on November 30 or December 28th.
All divisional teams will have one optional weeknight practice per week. Given the lack of gym availability during the week, these times may be later than you like but come if possible. Times and nights will be assigned once teams are formed in early November. Some weeks there may also be an optional "open gym" night where players from each divisional can scrimmage with coach supervision in a fun, relaxed environment.
All divisional leagues have eight regular season games, starting on December 8th and ending on February 2nd. There are no games on December 29th. Times for these games will vary from 9 am to 6 pm, with schedules being released in early November. All games are in Palo Alto except for 7th-8th grade girls and possibly 5th-6th grade girls.
Post-season City Champtionship
All divisional teams will play in a post-season tournament the weekend of February 8th and 9th. Please keep this weekend open as we will not know the game times until the week before and some lucky teams may have up to five games over the weekend.
All Star Teams — PANJB fields competitive All Star teams in all divisions of the Silicon Valley and National NJB All Star tournaments. Players are nominated by their divisional coaches/teammates to tryout, and teams are selected in late January by experienced All Star coaches. All Star season runs from mid February through March and also includes participation in several local AAU tournaments.
K-2 Rookie League — PANJB offers a "developmental" or "Rookie" league for young players in kindergarten through second grade. It is a co-ed program held on Saturdays, where kids are grouped by skill as opposed to gender or grade level. Each 90 minute clinic includes 45-60 minutes of skill development and 30-45 minutes of games. Players receive a PANJB Rookie uniform to keep. Clinic dates: 11/16, 11/23, 12/7, 12/14, 12/21, 1/11, 1/18, 1/25, 2/1, 2/8. Players will have multiple session times (TBD) to choose from and can attend either or both each week.
High School League — For high schoolers who don't play on their school team, Silicon Valley NJB offers a non-competitive high school program on the weekends. Starting in December and running through February, PANJB fields self-managed teams that practice on Saturdays in Palo Alto and play on Sundays in Santa Clara. If you are interested in forming a team, email email@example.com.
